Has anyone had any experience with the cable inside the iMac labeled 620-2122. I was given an iMac G4 flat panel from a friend. He said the only problem with it was that the flat screen went out. Upon opening up to take a look I found that the cable labeled 620-2122 had been severed. I cut it the rest of the way hoping I could clean up the ends and splice the wires back together. I found that this cable consists of 2 cables. One gray and one black. The black one was the on that was severed. It has four wires inside of it with 3 wires inside of those wires. All with stranded shielding and tin shielding. Impossible for me to put back together. Does anyone know exactly what this cable is for and if their is somewhere on the planet where I can buy one. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks

A Google of that number shows only this thread and a load of unrelated stuff. Are you SURE that's the right number?

That's a valid internal Apple part number. But I doubt you'll ever find one short of knowing someone in Cupertino who has spares hanging around in the bottom drawer of their office. If you must get this fixed, try an Apple store and see what they say.
