I own a new iMac intel dual core 2 and recently was given a Ps2 not a Ps3 , use with a conventional TV ( that I borrowed ). Soon have to give the tv back so , will have Playstation but no tv what I want to know is can I attach the ps2 to the imac ( with intel chip ) if that make any difference. to use the screen instead of buying a new TV? I tried to network the two by cable but no luck I am pretty sure the ps2 can network

Networking them won't work. You would need a TV dongle, but most people say that there's too much lag on such setups to get decent play out of it. So short answer is no.
