I have a G5 20" iMac.

I would like to replace the DVD for one that will do Dual Layer burn.

Of course I can pay for an expensive replacement.

I was wondering if any of these cheaper options available would work:
LG GSA-T20N
LiteOn DS-8A1P-21C

Anyone know if they are 100% compatible with the iMac G5 20"?

Those are trayloading players. You need a slotloader if you want to fit it into the iMac. More importantly, you need one where the slot nicely lines up with the one in the Mac. Googling the subject found two.

No idea how well they work, but since both of those shops are Mac sites, they ought to do it.

I've used this drive several times when replacing the slot-loading drives in Macs. Bought from these guys too, they're good.
