Hi guys,
I have the early 24Inch iMac Core 2 Duo. Apple said the max ram for this machine is 3GB, can I however put 4GB RAM in it and improve its performance?
iMac 24 Inch, 2.93 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR2 SDRAM, 640 GB Hard drive, 256 MB NVIDIA
iPhone4 32GB Black
1TB Time Capsule
You'll still have 3GB usable memory, but installing 4GB will give you more bandwidth which will improve performance in applications that sensitive to memory bandwidth. OTOH the cost difference isn't that much, perhaps $15.
