Hi All!

I have a G4/400 that came with a whopping 10gig hard drive. I put a 60gig drive in the secondary (slave?) spot. How do i make the 60g the main drive now? Do i just copy the contents of the first drive to the second one and then physically switch them or is there a different way?

Any help would b appreciated!

Are we talking about a Mac OS X system or a Mac OS 9 system?

Mac OS X
You want to clone the 10GB to the 60GB, so you can use SuperDuper which is shareware BUT is going to let you clone your drive, or to use any other apps like CarbonCopyCloner. Mac OS X's Disk Utility lets you do it so but I have always used SuperDuper so I can't say how better or bad others are.

Mac OS 9
All it takes is to copy the files and you are done. Sometimes you had to bless a System Folder in OS9, just double click on the file called "System" that's within the System Folder.

In both cases, once you have cloned - copied the content of the disk, you only have to switch them -physically- and change the master/slave configuration (those small pins) on the rear part of the drive.
