Hi,

I have a mac mini hooked up wirelessly to my network. Whenever I copy files from the mini to my iMac across the network the mouse becomes virtually unusable on the mini. (It is a wireless mighty mouse). I have found this to be the case under tiger and leopard. Is this usual or do I have some problem that can be fixed?

What application and protocol are you using to copy the files?

Also, open the Activity Monitor and sort by CPU when copying files. Does one of the processes consume an unusual amount of CPU time? (a screenshot of the window would help).

There used to be a bug in one particular version of OS X that caused that behavior during USB transfers but it was fixed. That should not be happening. The questions moep asks are helpful: what application and protocol?

Thanks for the response guys.

I am just using finder to copy from one mac to the other. I've not got a huge amount of networking experience so your question about protocols is a bit od a puzzler, but assume the protocol is just your standard tcp/ip type thing? Will check the activity monitor tonight when I get home and post more info.
