Is it possible to use my iMac as an external monitor? I want to use my Mac Mini with it. Thanks!
Do you have a recent iMac or the old model with a CRT display? I recall that early models used standard VGA connector for their displays, so if it's the case you could connect it to your mini with minimal hacking.
In case you have a newer (non-CRT) iMac you will need to make use of something like VNC.
But in order for it to work smoothly you should have at least 100Mbps Ethernet. VNC sharing is built into OS X (Prefs > Sharing > Screen Sharing > Computer Settings). Free clients are JollysFastVNC or ChickenOfTheVNC. ScreenRecycler is based on VNC as well, but is geared specifically at what you're trying to do. It's $25 though.
