I have three internal hard drives installed in my 1 GHz G4 tower; two ATA, one SATA. I'd like to add another SATA drive; my question is will this push the limits of the power supply and bus, or should it be no problem?

I had four in my G4 MDD, but check the hard drive power ratings and the power rating of your power supply

I have 4 in my MDD as well and I have 2 optical drives and every PCI slot filled as well. I'm using the stock 400W supply and not the 360W replacement one.

HDs have been getting more efficient over time, you may find that you can put more modern HDs in that you could a few years ago.

I'd put it in, and not worry about it unless you start getting symptoms. You can always move a drive to an external case later if the G4 can't handle it.
