Hello,

This is kind of an odd question which I've not seen addressed anywhere.

I have a Mac Pro with a nVidia Geforce 8800GT graphics card which I use with two monitors, a 30 inch (2560x1600) and a 24 inch (1920x1200).

When I am playing World of Warcraft on the main 30 inch display and have something using video or some programs that use some animation, open on the other screen I notice a significant drop in frame rate in World of Warcraft. The CPUs are not showing a lot of use and the RAM usage is no-where near full. Could this be an indication of the graphics card being stressed by this work?

If I put another graphics card in the next slot, and connected the second display to that card, would it use the graphics processor on that card for everything the other screen would display and allow the first card to save all it's processing power for the main display?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

If anyone is interested in this, with a bit of help I managed to test this out last night using a Radeon X2600 as a second card to run the second display.

Running video or other things with animation didn't seem to impact the frame rate of World of Warcraft on the main display.
