The darn thing just ignores my keyboard command. I've got a brand new HDD in (320GB) with no OS but formatted however when I hold the cmd and T keyts down I get no response. I know efi firmware is not on since I can boot the machine from an external drive.

I wanted to install Leopard on the drive but since my Leopard DVD is knackered I was going tro use my disk image of it which needs the machine to boot into FWTD.

I thought that FW mode was in the ROM so it should be independant of any OS being installed on the machine.

You don't need the cmd key, just T.

If holding T doesn't work then it could be your keyboard, but it should be a white one, right?

yeah it's a white one. I've found many Macs don't like the new alu keyboard.

oh and d'oh! Must have had brain fade holding the cmd key down!!! It's too late this evening as the Mac is in the office but that would have been the problem. I feel like a child!
