Second time graphics card has fried in 2 months. First time was the original 1900 that came with cpu. This time the new 3870. While working on cpu tonight all the sudden it shut off and fan turned on full speed. Nothing comes on display, just like last time. I don't play any games on here, just adobe's CS3. One 24in display. There's a warranty on the card but this is getting old. Has this happened to anyone else or can anyone explain what's going on here?
Unless you are unlucky twice in a row, your cards are probably running too hot. Make sure all fans are clean and functional, the box is in a well ventilated location, and seek out temperature management software.
