I'm buying a new iMac (hopefully if they're updated at MacWorld) but before that i need to sell my MacBook.. I'm wondering, what would be the easiest way to transfer all of my information over? I know i can plug in the MacBook via firewire but i need to sell it before i get the iMac (because i need the extra cash) I have Time Machine backing my MacBook up to an external drive.. Would i be able to restore the iMac off the backup? Or will i face problems? I just cant lose any of my programs/info etc.

Thanks for the help

Time Machine will be fine in theory, though I always recommend backing up your user folder and applications folder separately just in case that doesn't work. saves a lot of annoyance.

I recommend backing up to another external Firewire (or, less optimally USB) hard drive. I've heard some negative things about Time Machine full restores, but you'll probably be fine either way.
