Hey I'm looking for a gaming card

Currently running mac pro (early 2008)
2 x 3 GHz core duo
5 gb memory
250gb hd
1 tb hd
NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT

Looking online I found this ATI Radeon HD 3870 Mac & PC Edition
barefeats

I know the 880 is slightly faster but way more expensive

I'm not sure if the 880 is worth it especially since my macbook has a better graphics card.

I may leave old card and add a new windows only card since many games are not available for osx anyway. I'd like to get a card that will be fast on both os's thou.

What do you guys think of this card?

If you're going to get a better card for Windows gaming, I'd just go with the 3870 for OS X gaming; the 8800 is faster, no doubt, but the price is absurd (and I wouldn't play many games under OS X).

It's an "8800" and I highly doubt your MacBook has a better video "card". I bought the 8800 for my MacPro and have no regrets, of course I bought it before ATI had anything other than the 1900 card (which had mixed reviews).

It has to be the Mac version if you want it to work in OS X.
