I'm waiting for a new iMac to be introduced before buying, but was disappointed by no new product introduction at Macworld. I've been loooking for information on possible timimg for a new or refreshed iMac but haven't found anything.

Did I miss an article??

Somehow I'm thinking that it's gonna be a bit later than this quarter. Apple in the past hasn't shied away from showing pre-production models at MWSF when they needed a bit of extra Keynote bang--and citing shipping dates in the monthly figures.

But 4 months is still quite credible. You'd expect Apple'd want new models for the back-to-school buying (which is somewhat later than 4 months.)

Idle speculation being what it is, you heard it here first.

The MWSF rumors were bull. There simply is no credible information on the iMac. We'll just have to wait and see.

A widepread guess is this quarter. I too would expect to see it within the quarter, but it's just guessing.

Strange, the Macrumors Buyer's Guide doesn't seem to have been updated since MW 2009.

Common sense and knowledge of Apple's release cycles.

I think that'll be broken into 2 different events; or 1 press event and one or more quiet releases. Apple really doesn't tend to talk about iMacs and Mac Pros at the same time.

(OTOH, if they end up w/a quad-core iMac, maybe they'll want to highlight that connection with the Pro…)

I doubt common sense is the expression you were looking for.

If anything 'common sense' says not all of that new hardware would be launched at a single press event. Why would Apple want the mini to distract from a new MP and new ACDs?

common sense implies everyone knows that is the way things are done. If that were the case here, there wouldn't be a Mac Rumor website as well as many other rumor websites seeking to determine when new product was coming, as everyone would know in advance when the next product was being released.

In any event, it doesn't look like there is any credible information at present so we'll just have to wait until there is.
