Ok, well it's my birthday in two months, and I am thinking about getting a 24" iMac. I love movie editing and stuff like that, and also playing games. But, what I wanted to know was, is there a new iMac coming out soon? My brithday is April 2 and I don't want to buy one and have a new one come out a day later. Any answers?

Wait until the new one comes out, then buy it. What matters more: whether you get it on your birthday or you get the best technology when it arrives?

Apple will never admit to anything until it actually happens.
I agree with the post above, which is more important: getting the machine the day of or getting the latest rev of iMac?

The likely differences in the iMac will be a logic board more in line with what is in the current MacBook / MacBook Pros. The current selling iMac is a great machine that will do everything you throw at it, the new one will just have a performance bump.

There's undoubtably going to be a new iMac released sometime soon, but it's anyone's guess as to exactly when. What you get now will still be a great machine, it's just whether you want to wait for the new version when it arrives, or will be happy with not having the newest one in a few months' time.
