Gonna help a friend upgrade the RAM in his 1.83 Core 2 Duo mini. Just want to double-check to make sure this is the correct RAM:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820233062

I want to get him 2 of those (4GB total), but I've heard his model mini will only recognize 3GB. Is this correct?

Also, will cracking open his mini to do a memory upgrade void his paid-for AppleCare?

Thanks.

You can install 4GB and it will recognise you have 4GB of ram, but your mini will only be able to utilise 3GB (approx).

As long as you do not do any damage in the process, should be okey dokey.
