Hi, this is my first post so sorry if it is a repeat question but I didn't see it answered in any other posts.

I bought a new Seagate 500GB Momentus 2.5" SATA hard drive with hopes of putting it in my new Mac Mini. I opened the case, removed the optical drive to access the hard drive and stopped when I saw a cable attached to the circuit board that plugs in to the hard drive SATA/power connectors and runs to the side opposite of the SATA/power end of the hard drive, kind of where it looks like bar codes. It looks like it is attached to a small circuit board and that wire runs along the hard drive and plugs in to the circuit board that houses the hard drive and optical drive connectors. Does anyone know what this cable is? Will this prevent me from being able to upgrade the hard drive? Is it removable? Sorry if my description is confusing. Thanks!

Mike

Look here and here for directions on upgrading the HD in your Mini. Nothing you see will prevent you from doing it.
