I have an ACARD PCI 133 (non-raid version) and a 400GB Hitachi/IBM ATA HD drive that I would like to use in a Powermac G5 (late 2005 model with 2 HD drive bays (SATA). Is this possible, I mean, are the PCIe slots backward compatible? The drive will obviously fit in the drive bay, but is the PCI card compatible with the PCI express slots in the G5 and can the connecting ATA cable be routed up to the drive bay without causing cooling problems?
Any advice appreciated.

No, PCI cards are not compatible with PCIe slots.
