Not sure if this belongs here, but I'm heading off to a new college in the fall. I already know I'm taking my Titanium G4 PowerBook with me, but I've also got a G4 PowerMac Sawtooth that I haven't been using lately since I no longer have a monitor to use with it. I was planning to buy an external hard drive to bring with me, but I remembered Firewire Target Mode today, and since my PowerMac has two fair sized hard drives already in it, I had a few questions:

1. If OS X 10.2.8 on the PowerMac is set up with a password for access, will it still boot into Target Mode?
2. If I get it to boot into Target Mode, will I see both hard drives in the PowerMac, or would I only see the drive that OS X is installed on? I ask because if it'll show both, I intend to use the main drive for storing music, while the second drive would most likely be partitioned into a drive to hold a backup copy of the PowerBook's hard drive and another for other uses.

"Listen, I don't do warning shots: From start to end, it's completely a climax. Say your prayers."

Target Disk Mode is in firmware and not dependent on the OS. I think you'll be able to see both drives, but you certainly don't have to worry about what OS the Sawtooth has installed on it.
