Here's a funny.
Skype Video call. Skype 2.7.0.330
Using headsets with mics on both my LAN Router iMacs, mine give a slight audio delay in headset, whereas other iMac doesn't appear to, with same settings, volume etc.
Yet when I test Skype echo123, I do not hear myself in my headphones, until I replay the test, as it should be.
No loudspeaker output from iMacs, why does mine have this delay ?
It's the same if I just use built in mic and LS too.
Even when using iMic (Griffin)
(I've yet to have a chat with a real person using Skype, outside my LAN, perhaps this delay will disappear then ?)

My main requirement was for Video chat.
So I setup my two iMacs, one PC and one ASUS notebook, and SKYPE tested talked and saw myself using my home LAN.
Skype versions ... Mac .. Windows XP ... Linux (Built into ASUS)
Worked very well, slight howlround, to be expected as all in same room.
Had a real-time conversation with US relative last night, using all 4 computers (one at a time) and they all worked well, using just built in mics and LS's.
I tried various IM clients, Skype by far the best and easiest to use, Yahoo Messenger a close second.
I was impressed by the iMac / Skype combo capability to suppress howlround, using just internal mic & LS.
I also tried ooVoo internally, very promising, as it appears to get around the Skype inability to display multi video screens on a conference call, or am I missing something ?
