I have am running an imac intel with 10.4.11
Everyday I get security updates ( Security update for Safari-beta4 19Mb ) always the same one looks identical is there anyway to find out if it is real or bogus. For the moment i'm ignoring them
can anyone help?!

Updates via Software Update are legitimate.

edit: btw, are you saying you keep seeing the same update over and over again? Have you installed that update and it keeps reappearing?

Same here. I installed the Safari Beta 4.0 as soon as it appeared. I have verified it was installed. Now, every couple of days it wants to install again.

WTF?

I received two software update notices for Safari 4, they ran fine and did install Safari 4. I think they were possibly security updates rather than version updates, thus the version remained at 4.0b.

sorry for my late reply .Yes i installed it once now ithe same is reapearing again and again , but since Ihave refused to install the update? i've got no more updates.

I double checked and the two updates to Safari 4 are security updates, not version updates. You should install those updates.

thanks for the infomation but I have not updated however since this thread i got 5 more security updates ,also now my internet connetion is behaveing a bit weird connection is fine one minute then goes the next will probably call BT and find out if part of the problem is them?
