would anyone have any experience with multi screen displays using the new Mac Pro?

Specifically I am thinking of using a 3 screen display for flight sim X on the Boot Camp side of things. At the moment I am interested in the device called a Matrox Triple Head 2 Go box that takes one video output and breaks it into a 3 screen display - basically a pix res of 3840 x 768 spread evenly across the screens with bezel management to make the image matching very tight

At the moment though Matrox cannot say their box will even work for certain on the Boot Camp side so I am stuck with which Mac to purchase for this. They also make vid cards that provide higher resolution but I rather suspect are not plug in compatible with the Mac Tower. Does anyone know if the Tower takes other video cards and has a standard plug onfiguration?

Here is the link to their site

Matrox says it is an Aople question as clearly they don't seem to have a lot of Mac types on staff there

Any clues most appreciated. Thanks

Is that cheaper than getting a 2nd graphics card? You should have the PCIe slots for it. And that would negate driver support questions.

Buy another graphics card (there are a few options available at different price points) instead of farting around with the Matrox splitter.

Thanks for your thoughts guys.

The issue is how does one get one panoramic view across 3 screens in Flight Sim X if I am using three vid cards? That is the only real issue. If that can be solved then I agree there is no need for the Matrox box.

I suspect it is a utility that one must find to do that. Finding it would be the issue.

If there is only a slight improvement in rez from Matrox's 3840 x 768 ( divided by three horizontally) to separate vid cards then then it may be more economical to go the Matrox route with one vid card.

Apparently the limitation in res is at Apple's end where the picture buffer size limit is 4K x 4K I believe. Higher res's are supported on their vid cards that plug in to a box; thus the question as to whether the Mac Tower vid slots are standard and do drivers exist for both sides?f
