i have two monitors hooked up to my mac in my office across the house. 1 is a sony LCD TV 50 in conected through HDMI - DVI cable through a drilled whole in the wall (my desk is on the other side of the wall) the other is 24 inch dell LCD. i use the screen sharing alot, to control the tower from my couch in my TV room, and watch movies on the LCD.

im wondering if there is way to control (turn on / off , enable disable ) the DVI ports on my mac because in order for the proper resolution to display i have to plug in 1 monitor @ a time.

for some reason mirroring or 2 independent resolutions does not work properly

i want to have an easy script (if possible) or something to be able to screen share to my mac pro , and turn the individual ports on and off. so i dont have to walk across the house to do it.

I don't think it's possible to selectively turn ports off like that. Would a DVI A/B box work?

What problem do you have with mirroring/spanning?

when the sony LCD 50in is diplayed at full 1920x1080 res, and (the TV aspect ratio is set to FULL, not strech or some other) about a 1/2 inch is cut off on all sides of the screen, so i cant see my top menu bar (apple file edit) or my dock and what not on the bottom of the screen.

when im wathcing movies i can FULL SCREEN the video and it not be an issue, but regular computer actions are impossible.

That's called overscan. See if your TV has a hidden setting for 1:1 mapping.
