I have a new mini and want to purchase a tv/monitor so I can use the same screen for computing and for watching tv when the computer is off.Currently I have an older Samsung monitor that does this but it only works with low-res VGA.

Is anyone out there using a monitor/tv with a mini and getting full DVI/HDMI resolution? If so, what monitor are you using?

Any TV that offers a 1:1 option will be fine.

I have a 42" Vizio that does 1:1 with a physical HDMI connector. Use it with a DVI-HDMI cable from my PC.

I'm using a mac mini as a HTPC connected to a 42" LCD HDTV and it works great. The biggest issue I have is that the mini doesn't use the full screen area when its in 'normal' mode. Setting it to 'overscan' pushes the top menu and most of the Dock out of visible range on the TV. So I just leave it on it's regular settings and don't worry to much about the ~1" black border around everything. All-in-all, it works great.

And while I don't watch TV with this, I do have one of these at work: Dell S2409W 24-inch Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor and it's quite a nice display. Watched a few HD movie trailers and they look great.

Thanks - can y'all recommend specific monitors with coax inputs I should look at?
