Although that looks a lot like a graphics card issue, I'm guessing that it might be software related due to the newness of your iMac. Update to 10.6.2 and see if that takes care of it.

@megatoine
Have you already found out what the problem is? I have the same situation over here and I find it very annoying.

MacBook Pro
2.4 Ghz Intel Core i5
4 GB 1067Mhz RAM
Snow Leopard 10.6.4

Never had the problem with my white MacBook (also Snow Leopard)

I have seen this on a variety of machines with various versions of Leopard and possibly Safari too. It usually recitifies itself fairly quickly though. Apple acknowledged the issue in a list of bugs they thought they'd fixed (forget where I saw that) but they don't seem to have fixed it altogether yet.
MacBook 2.0GHz CD; MacBook Pro 15" 2.4GHz Late '08; PowerMac G4 MDD Dual 1GHz; 3x Xserve G4 1GHz; Mac Mini 2GHz; Big pile of broken and working bits;
