Hi, I have an Intel iMac running OS X 10.5.8. For some reasons, recently I noticed that some thing strange happened with the Apple menu. In the About This Mac. there is a button More Info... this button used to be able to
open System Profiler, but now when I click on it, the menu bar just blink like twice but it doesn't open System Profiler. Also none of the other items in the Apple menu such as Software Update... System Preferences.. opens anything. I am wondering how I can fix that?

Thanks in advance.

If the answer to Spheric’s question is yes, you might have a corrupted LaunchServices cache. If this is the case, after confirming that System Profiler is where it’s supposed to be, go to /Library/Caches and delete anything that starts with com.apple.LaunchServices.

Hi Spheric Harlot, yes I do have System Profiler in the right place.

Hi CharlesS, I followed you advice, it WORKS. Thank you so much.

I wonder how these files get corrupted in the first place?

Thank you all
