I'm in the market for a little computer that is convenient, easy to deal with, and will stay out of my way, the Mac Mini looks ideal, but I wonder with the optical drive, new intel processor, and 9400M graphics all squeezed into that puny box, how long will it last under stress before one of those parts burns out and kills the system? I've had parts reach pre-mature failure rates with me in the past, and looking at the density of this computer, it's hard.....to believe that....building a computer like that is an ok thing to do.

Thoughts?

No widespread reports of such problems have appeared so far.

I've been running a PPC Mac mini under lots of load 24/7 since October 2005. It's still doing great.

I second that. The PPC mini is by far less power efficient than Intel´s and my Mini is working flawlessly since the Panther 10.3 days. Having said that, I wouldn´t worry about it. Worry about MBPs with the 8600 GT card.. those things do fail.

regards

Yep indeed. Just got mine back from my AASP.

I have to give Apple credit though. They swapped the MLB on an over two year old MBP with no AppleCare entirely free of charge.
