Good day

If some one would provide direction I would appreciate the assistance.
I have a Panasonic PV GS14 with a 6 / 4 firewire to my Mac with I movie and Final Cut, I can not get the Mac to recognize the GS14.

Is there a driver that I need to install? or other?

Thank you

No drivers are needed - it should just work. There's no reason for it not to work since it's a name brand miniDV camcorder. Are you sure you're looking in the right places in iMovie and Final Cut? It could be a blown Firewire port, but that's unlikely. Have you either tried a different Firewire device to verify that the port is working or used the cam with a different Mac to verify it's working?

Thank you for the reply

When I plug in the USB cable to the camera, it is recognized, this is only good for stills It does nothing for video.
Using the fire wire, I can not get the Mac to recognize the camera.

I also have a cannon XL2 and a panasonic DVX100
I do not have any problems with any of these two cameras.
The Mac recognizes them immediatly.
Thank you

Strange. Then I'd assume it's the cam since you've verified that Firewire is working otherwise. I guess the only other thing to do would be to try it on a different Mac, but it sounds like the camcorder is at fault to me.
