Hey guys, got the dual G5 with a 6600LE stock card in it. I'm on ebay and I'm looking at the X1900 vs the 7800 GT, the X1900 has faster clock speeds, they both have the same video ram, should I just go for the X1900 then?

I have the OEM 7800GT and have not tried the X1900GT for comparison. There is a notable difference - the 7800GT has one dual-link DVI and one single-link DVI. The X1900GT has 2 dual-link DVI ports, for dual 30" monitors.

Oh I didn't notice that, well it doesn't matter I don't plan on ever having more than 2 20" ers hooked up to it, are they both compatible with VGA if I have a regular DVI to VGA adaptor?

I had the x1900GT with my old Mac Pro, and it happened to have overheating and messed up the card.

The 7800 has a fan on the card.

Graphics card usually sits nice and cool between 116 fahrenheit idle (127 deg presently).

I think the heating was what caused issues with my Radeon 9600XT before as it had no fan.
