Just noticed I have a 7mm by 28cm (yes I measured it) line running vertically down the left half of my 24" display, 8cm from the left side of the screen. Yes I searched the iMac forum but found nothing like this glitch...
Is this a known issue? Have Applecare so I'm not worried...just majorly annoyed.

You could try calling Apple. Apparently it's not uncommon, and there's currently a class action lawsuit going on right now over it.
