Hello,

I have a 2002 Quicksilver G4/933 running Tiger with a 1TB Seagate and 640 Maxtor internal HD. I've been having a lot of issues recently starting with wake from sleep problems. It requires a shut-down with control/option/command/power. Sometimes I can't see the HD on reboot and have to start-up from the install disk, use disk utility and then restart. Sometimes the machine is very slow, like when using Eudora, windows take forever to close and if I type fast the machine can't keep up. This was never an issue previously. In fact, if it's not a hardware problem, it might be Eudora (sorry i can't give it up). Anyway to diagnose if the mobo is going bad or if it's another hardware issue. I kind of think it works better in the AM when the machine is cool.

Thanks!

Eudora couldn't possibly cause those symptoms. It sounds like your hard drive is dying. Make sure you have a backup, replace the drive and see if that helps.

Or boot from the other drive.
