I bought my partner a Mini last July. It's been running just fine ever since. I did upgrade the RAM to 4GB when I first bought it. It was my second time adding RAM to a Mini so I know what I'm doing in that regard.

Two days ago he rebooted because there were pending software updates... unfortunately I don't know exactly which ones. It may have been 10.6.3 but I can be sure. After the reboot, his bluetooth wasn't working. It still showed up in the menu bar and System Profiler didn't indicate there was anything wrong but it wouldn't pair with any device... it just wouldn't see them. Tried another reboot just to see if that would do anything to no avail. Next I did a PMU reset. Once I turned the computer back on the fan was going full speed and stayed that way. Bluetooth is now working but the fan will not slow down. I've tried rebooting but that doesn't do anything.

Ideas anyone? I didn't want to do another PMU reset... wasn't sure if it's okay to do them frequently. Speaking of which, when I did the reset, the date/time was still up to date. Apple's KB article indicated that the date/time would have to be updated after the reset. Not sure if that is indicative of anything.

Try installing the 10.6.3 combo update and see if that fixes anything. Is there anything hogging CPU in Activity Monitor that would perhaps redline the fans? Or do they go full blast immediately when you turn it on? My iMac did that once after a SMC reset, but I reset it again and it fixed it.
