Hey all,

I hadn't touched my Cube (500mhz, 1.5GB RAM, 80GB HD, 10.4.11) in a few years.

I need to scan some documents using my old Canon 9900F scanner (which is not supported under Snow Leopard-not surprising as the drivers haven't been updated since Tiger.

Wow. This is so cool. Running Software Update to get all the updates I've missed . I had to run SU about 3 times to get all the updates. Still nowhere near as bad as it would be if I were firing up an old Windows XP box. Now that would take a long time to get all the updates.

Looking back, I should not have bought the Cube (live and learn) as it was waaaay too expensive. A very nice box but whew I am having buyer's remorse 10 years after the fact. Ha!

I got the scanner working so at least the Cube can live on serving a useful purpose. I tried using my Epson Artisan 800 but it is out of ink on the yellow ink cartridge and refuses to either scan or print (using the black setting) because this one ink cartridge is empty. This is a really lame excuse to force one to buy a new cartridge even though I'm not using anything that requires color.

Now if I could just remember that the Apple Wireless mouse I'm using is NOT the Magic Mouse! I keep using swipe gestures to scroll around in Safari and nothing happens.

Additionally, I'm using the full-size Apple Wireless keyboard. Man, what a monstrosity compared to the latest versions. I do like the feel of keys when typing but it sure takes up a lot of desk space.

Awesome. The Cube is my all-time favorite iMac right there with the G4 iMac.

Talking about 'expensive' but eye-pooping stuff, the Samsung SCX-4500W Multi-function would be a great companion for your Cube.
