I'm looking at the everymac page for this and apparently it does have dual-layer burning:

I never saw anything about DL burning when I bought this in October of 2009. Can anyone confirm for me that it does in fact have DL burning?

nick, dual layer DVD burning has been around for years. It's a standard feature, and as mduell points out it's shown on your System Profiler listing.

It was briefly omitted from a generation of laptops when they started using the slimmer drives in MacBooks and MacBook Pros but otherwise has been standard since G4 laptops and G5 desktops I think.

Correct.

DL has been standard since Oct. 2005 - except for the first generation of MacBook Pro.

Here in Mexico is really difficult to find DL media, much less a preferred brand. Do you guys have good availability of such media?
