Problem -

I have a pc running Win 7 Pro - my friend has an iMac G5 running 10.4.11

I want to make a disk on my Win 7 Pro machine (with AVI files on it) that will play/read on my friends iMac.

How do I do this?

We have tried making a disk from Win7 but the iMac automatically ejects it before we can do anything with it - so we can't use VLC (yet).

Can't use Perian because it's for 10.7 or higher.

Frustrated!

A standard PC-formatted disk will work on a Mac - including an iMac G5 running 10.4 - without any problems.

My bet is on a dying optical drive in the iMac. Do other disks work fine?

In any case, just use a USB stick instead.

(also, 10.7 won't be out until next summer. We're at 10.6.x, and Perian works just fine. )

By "make a disk", do you mean write a CD/DVD, or do you mean a write to HD (hard drive) and then connect it to the Mac ?

(I would think the former, which Spheric has already addressed.)

The latter should work without a problem, which is why I didn't address it.
