Hi. This is my first time posting. My brother-in-law just dropped off a CD with pictures of our Thanksgiving event on it. I went to put it into my Imac and it started to read it and then it spit it out. This has happened before, but I never figured out what was happening. The CD is a Memorex DVD-R. Does anyone know what I can do to read this CD? I think it is suppose to be readable by an Apple computer, but maybe not. Any help someone can give me is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Macs can read PC-burned discs. Either your optical drive is faulty or the disc is.
MacBook 2.0GHz CD; MacBook Pro 15" 2.4GHz Late '08; PowerMac G4 MDD Dual 1GHz; 3x Xserve G4 1GHz; Mac Mini 2GHz; Big pile of broken and working bits;

My money is on the disc being faulty-or really dirty. If it's clean and not scratched up, then it was likely not properly closed when it was burned. I'd try it on some other device before being concerned about the Mac having a problem.
