The plastics clips that hold the heatsink onto the CPU snapped and the fan now runs at 100%

I ve opened it up and can see the clip[ has snapped but I cannot seem to find a replacement - I have a 1st gen Intel Mac Mini and cannot afford to replace the entire machine simply becuiase of a broken widget

I was told that M4 40 screws would do and I spent all day trying them but they are too long and also too thick

Look at the picture to get a feel for this

MacMini Clips Macs for Sale London

Does anyone know where to get the right pin size replacement from ? Seems a shame to have to scrap the machine because of this
