Hi guys,
I just bought a brand new mac mini and hooked it up to my Gateway 22" display using an HDMI cable. Well at a resolution of 1680 X 1050 a thin green line appears from top to bottom on the left side of the display.
If I select a lower resolution or even 1080p, 720p that line dissapears. I haven't had a chance to use the hdmi>dvi adaptor that came with the Mac mini to see if the line disappears (downloading all patches right now)as well. The problem is that If I select a different resolution from the 1680 X 1050 one, the image becomes blurry. I googled the problem and looks like there´s a problem with a mix of using HDMI cable and an obsolete firmware of the display. Anyone has any clue?
regards

Update - the green line disappeared by using the DVI connector even at 1680 x 1050 resolution.

Will do more testing using a different HDMI cable, but I seriously doubt the cable would be the problem. Looks like an update to the LCD firmware is required.

2nd update - A semi final solution- Switched my PC to the VGA conector and the Mac mini to the DVI-- both running at 1680 x 1050 resolutions without any green lines. In all due honesty I can't see any difference on my PC with the switch of interfases.
Will try hooking up my PS3 on the HDMI and see what happens, but even so I guess I´m going to stick with this configuration.
