I would like to know if there are any advantages of getting the 27" iMac over the 21.5". Is an advantage the 2GB graphics card? (1GB upgradeable card)

How well does this perform?

Thanks,
Shane74340.

I think bigger display also means better productivity.

The 27" with the upgradable GPU has a faster CPU as well and even its base 1GB card is a higher spec card than others in the range.

If you aren't a gamer then you might prefer to spend some of the extra on an SSD boot drive instead.

Thanks for the replies.
I do play two games, Spore and The Movies; would those work well on a SSD? I really don't use that much space; I put all my data on an external drive.

I would like to know one thing: How well is the screen for iPad interface building in Interface Builder? (On my 20" I have to scroll)

Thanks!

Spore will run fine on any new iMac. I don't know anything about "The Movies" If its a similar age to Spore the same should be true.
You can configure new iMacs with an SSD and a 1TB drive internally if you wish.

The iPad is 1024 on its longest side and the 21.5" iMac is 1080 on its shortest. = No scrolling.
