Buy from Amazon or Apple Store?

Is there any reason not to buy from Amazon? Mac Mini is $30 less plus no tax. That would save over $100 total here in Cali.

The only reason that I don't buy electronics is that I have seen a lot of videos on broken boxes and you just don't know hoe they are handled. I know $30 is a good savings, but I want to make sure that I get a good not damaged product. I was going to order my IMAC from the Apple and have it delivered, but I decided that a trip to the Apple store was worth it.

I bought a 52" LCD TV and a 23" LCD monitor from Amazon and they were in perfect condition, plus Amazon's return policy is great.

1) You can buy a BTO unit from Apple and choose such things as RAM and HD capacity.
2) If you are a student or government worker you can use the respective online store and save what is equivalent to the cost of tax (at least here in CA).
If either of these do not fit or suit your needs then the Amazon path is great. I have ordered from both.

Sure, getting it from the retail store makes sure the box doesn't have huge dent in the side, but how do you think the stores get the machines you buy there? (Hint: Apple does not have fleets of trucks delivering goods to Apple Stores.)

Apple is very lax about buying through the .edu store. You don't even need a .edu e-mail to purchase from it!
