Is it possible on a Mac Pro that runs Leopard or Leopard Snow to have a hardware raid setting? I mean apart from the raid that one creates with disk utility.
A raid that is totally distinct from the OS, like the one configured from bios on other platforms.
Thank you

Thanks. So if I buy the RAID card how will I control it? The usual raid cards on the other platforms are controlled from the bios.
How I set up the RAID on a Mac Pro?
And BTW that RAID card has some really nice specs, 10x.

The Apple RAID card can only be managed from OS X, AFAIK. But you can do it from booting off an OS X DVD/thumb drive/etc.

There is a dedicated Apple RAID utility that goes with the RAID card.

3rd party RAID cards usually include a web interface. Which works just fine to control them on a Mac.
