Strange Question about a Mac Mini and an old iMac

Okay, so last year we handed down my old soccer ball G4 iMac 17" to my mother-in-law.
But that's not cutting it. The videos her friends send her are too darn slow, so we're going to hand down our 2007 dual core Mac Mini.
Now, here's my question. Is there any way I can jerry-rig that Mac mini to use the display from the iMac?
And if so, how hard will it be?

Basically no.
Why would you do that anyway? You can get a better screen for $100. I suppose if you tried really, really hard you could build a converter/attachment to the iMac to make it work, but it would probably cost more than a new screen. Instead of butchering the iMac, just sell it on Craigslist for more than a new screen, or else retire it as a still functional art piece.

Can I get a pretty white screen on a pivoting base for $100? I think not.
No kidding, though, they were the coolest looking iMacs ever...and that's saying a lot. I just thought it would be nice if the old girl was still useful (and saved me $100).

Soccer ball iMac? That's a new one. I've heard sunflower and desk lamp, but soccer ball, now that was a new one.

Repurposing the display from an old iMac or laptop is the holy grail of modding. Sadly its too complex/expensive to bother persuing.

You can try ScreenRecycler, which will let you share screens over your network.
Apparently the iMac G4 uses a TMDS display, which is the same signaling that DVI uses, so conversion isn't terribly difficult, but it'll be expensive and somewhat time-consuming.
This guy has found a way to do this, so it looks like it may be more feasible than originally thought:
