I have just received a RAID card for my Mac Pro. Can someone tell me how do I control the card to set up my raid? Also, can I make an image of my current system and restore it on my future RAID 5 configuration?

I am mainly interested in a method to access and control that RAID card.

Thank you

You can image your current system using Disk Utility.
To set up the RAID card you need to use the Apple RAID Utility.

The thing is the following. The drive on which the OS resides is a Western Digital SATA drive. I have 4 SAS disks ready to fill all the hard slots in the Mac Pro. OS is Lion.
Can you tell me how can I go forward in order to image my current OS image to the configurated RAID 5 with 4 SAS drives?
I already created the image using Disk Utility, but if put all the SAS disks inside, I don't have anything to boot from in order to set up the RAID and reimage the OS.

Thank you

You can put the drive in were the DVD is (or the empty slot) temporarily.

Or permanently install a drive in the extra Superdrive slot if you want to. Personally would make the 5th slot a SSD.

It seems that I still have problems installing this.

I managed to install the raid card, I configured the RAID 5 setup on the 4 SAS drives and I cloned my OS on a external hard drive (usb). I am able to boot the OS from the external hard drive via usb, but I don't know how can I restore my OS image on my raid 5 setup.
The idea is that I want to have the OS, exactly how I had it untill now, but on the raid.

Can someone tell me how can I restore my OS image on the raid?

Maybe I am doing something wrong, but I will explain my plan. I created a image of the "Macintosh HD" partition from the original 1 TB sata drive that I had on my Mac Pro untill now (using Disk Utility). My plan is to reimage this "Macintosh HD" partition onto the raid 5 setup using Disk Utility.

Thank you

If you have yet another OS you can boot from (use another USB drive or stick an old SATA drive in the optical slot as suggested) you can use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the OS you want to the RAID.
If you don't like that idea, install a clean OS on the RAID and then use the megration assistant to import data from the old OS via USB.

Simple.
