Hi, i am into HD videoconferencing and i was looking for a cam to combine with my macbook pro 2010 (2
(c2d 2.8). What camera can you recommend? Is there a HD video or photo camera that I can use (that would be best because I have to carry less hardware while traveling)

(and question number 2, i obtained an internal imac isight with an apparent firewire port, I fitted a firewireport to the isight but the mac didnt recognize it, how come?)

iMac iSight cameras have always been USB.
I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

Correct; The original external iSight camera was Firewire, but the iMac internal iSight was USB.
The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.

Most USB webcams work with Macs; the ones that don't are mostly the bargain ones that would be worse than the built in camera.

Newegg.com - Microsoft LifeCam Cinema looks nice, like the old iSight.

Newegg.com - Logitech C310 USB 2.0 HD WebCam is a bit smaller.

Newegg.com - Logitech C910 USB 2.0 1080p HD Pro Webcam is full HD, but I kind of roll my eyes at that given the usual bandwidth constraints.

I have wired an internal iMac iSight to USB before, it works fine.
I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....
