The CD burner and HD I put in these cases are very old but they still work well. It would be a huge waste if I throw them away (and no one will buy them)
thanks a lot! now i just need to find that $39 Ebay auction

NO! Don't go for this one. There is no power switch on this case. The only way to turn it on/off is to plug/unplug the power cord. Very clumsy

OK ok ok... I took all your advice. I am in the process of updating my pc(about 500 bucks into it) to make it a home theater/Gaming PC. My mac will be moved to to the desk and the PC will go next to the TV. I also added a 3g ipod to the setup and will add an external firewire hd once i get the new stuff for my pc. I can't open the ipod till christmas though.

I wont have the PC stuff until christmas because i can't spend 500 dollars on my teen budget but "Santa" can.

btw, going to get a sonata case for my PC because of its silence compared to other pcs. I will post a new pick as soon as everything gets in.

We're developing a linux based transparent clustering software that includes transparent memory, sockets and so forth ; it's a hybrid between software (linux kernel modified heavily by us) and a special hardware interface card+external box that we've developed.
Basically you start your linux application (must be processor intens and SMP capable) on the master node (one master node and up to twenty slave nodes) as usual and it automatically migrates the software on to the other nodes without the application having to be specially written or cluster capable. Any application more or less will work, like for an example a rendering engine for animation or film will automatically take advantage without the actual application being aware of it utilizing twenty+ machine's power and therefor completing its task much faster.

Everything is happening within the kernel space and the hardware space and we never actually migrate / copy the actual application on to the other machines (that would be a license violation in most cases after all, something we don't desire to do even if that would be the "easy" (relative to the task we're doing) way out), it just utlizes the memory and the cpu strenght..

anyway, the place is still under construction so it's a bit of a mess. The network is still being pulled on a few places, and the new server room isn't all set up yet, nor is all of the developers desks / workstations up working yet. That's the curse of moving, and that's the curse of expanding.

Neat place to work at tough!

Thanks, I'll let you know when we ship our public release. The "public" beta testing will begin the first of March so if you happen to be a part of any post production houses that wanna save a few bucks by paying a few bucks.. ;-)

The beer is Sam Adams Old Fezziwig Ale. Its a spiced brew only produced in the winter. The glass itself is just a generic pilsner glass that I've had for a while, not sure where I got it.

As for the 17" it will be gone soon, I'm looking for its replacement now. Check out this thread

stock everything (cept the geforce 4mx)
_____

*celery 900 [damn near fried it OCing.. POS intel chips]
*17" delta monitor (complete with non functioning power button!) - my trinitron's got a busted cable so I'll have to get another screen hehe (probably a 17" jellybean studio)
*FreeBSD 4.2 (I think)
*256 ram, geforce 2mx (primary), sis intercraperated (secondary - yes both my machines can handle dual monitors ^_^), 20gb noisy hard drive.

Hrmm notable others:

*borrowed table from my bro (my table's up in my room -- image attatched)
*my good ole kenwood stereo
*pro speakers + isub
*10gb (2nd gen) ipod
*mesquite bbq pringles [now empty]

I finally put my g4 back into it's spot.. had it out while I was testing some crap  and organizing cables hehe.

Here's meh room! (for sake of it)

*my bro's imac 800 15" (one of the first XD)
*p166 toy (monitor stored away)
*p75 laptop
*pt cruiser, assorted lights, my plushie collection (blah!), crazy lamp, etc. Anything girlie you can thank my mom for because she shares the room (sucks but hell I'm not sharing a room with either of my bros -- my bed's way on the other side >_>)
*99 dollar cam from walmart I borrowed from my bro to take this pict (I'm too lazy to go downstairs and get mine -- whatever).

So there. We have another house and need to sell this one too so if anyone wants to buy a house in northern bay area well let me know lol.

My setup, from left to right:

Canon camcorder
MDD G4 1 Ghz 1.25/60/SuperDrive/Combo
LaCie external HD
Glass of Chardonnay
Old *ss speakers
NEC 17" LCD (yes, unfortunately it's beige, a friend is going to buy it from me then I'll get an Apple display)
Apple keyboard
Logitech wireless mouse
Zip 250
Epson 740i
Mustek scanner (only reason left for Classic)

Terribly mismatched as far as colors go, but I plan on slowly replacing the oddballs (besides me).

I've been using Macs since around 1989 and lurker on this forum for sometime.

This is my first post, sorry I'm late to the party. Here are some pics of a really old and current office setups:

mullman's office setups

The above link also has a few pics of my work-in-process G4 Cube Macquarium...

I have some other pictures somewhere of offices where I had a NeXTstation and 20th Anniversary Macintosh somewhere and will put them up when I find them...

Not as fancy or powerful as others, but the works always gets done!

Current machines and a 15" and 17" iMac LCD SD and a 12" G4 iBook.

Best,

The table radio is simply awesome. The sound is really very good, far better than I expected for a mono. They are also making a stereo version now, which I haven't seen in person.
