My Mac finally arrived yesterday!!! Oh I love it. It's a DP2.3 with the 20" ACD. Still looks quite big compared to the 15" TiBook I was accustomed to. Disk access feels a tad slow and stalls the machine but besides that it's a killer machine.

That 30" is so awesome, its a nice setup. I can't get over the sheer size of its stand against the keyboard compared to the 23" its so wide!

Where'd you get that desktop background? That's exactly the sort that I'd want. If you have a link, that'd be appreciated.

Where'd you buy your desk? I love the shape and colour.

Also, I need to ask my parents to help me repaint my walls. They're still lime green from when I was about 6.

did everyone clean up before taking pictures, or am I the Oscar the Grouch of graphic designers?

If I am, I can deal with that, but I just need to know.

My house was built around 1911 and is not very spatious. I wanted to have a "desk-like" area in the livingroom so that I can play music etc. I converted a closed to desk space, see http://sneeuwberg.com/gallery/view_p...18&id=R0010659 for another view.

ps. (voo) HD is not allowed to spin down anymore but it doesn't really make a difference... I guess I might need to up the RAM, wired+active is around 650MB with only some basic apps open.

Anybody with a clean desk must have cleaned up recently...I think the question is "how much cleaner is your settup in the pic than it is right now?"

Haha, thanks. It's just old decoration from when I was about 9. You know how the young 'uns like their bright colours. I moved room, and I've only just moved back. It's been about almost 8 years since it was decorated, and the parents have been promising me they'll repaint it to a more retina friendly colour. :-)

Hmm, I wasn't implying that you were a "young'un who likes their bright colours", just that I used to be. I detest the bright colours now. I'd prefer off-white walls and a nice black desk. Minimalism is yummy. :-)

FYI for everyone that likes david's desk, you can get a good deal on them at Staples. I just order the set. It's normally an L shape with two main pieces at $199 ea. They advertised it a few months ago for $149 ea. Just ask the manager and they will probably honor the $149 price.

I ordered mine in preparation for the new PowerMac coming out tomorrow. I've been waiting to post in this thread for about a year

Yes, my desk is part of Z-Line's Matrix series which includes a regular desk (what I have) with a computer desk connected by a glass bridge. The series also includes a bookshelf, and a rolling hanging file cart.

PS Good luck with the new Powermac, Chad!

It's not a PowerMac. But I've contributed so many PowerMac shots to the gallery that I thought I'd break the rules. I hope no one smacks the post down so that the vintage goodness can be spread about the land.

This is my latest addition - it's in the office right now. Read about it here.

TailsToo why the heck do you keep the PowerBook on a stand there? It's like you can use it like that. Or was that just for showing ?

Hey David, is that a pair of B&W LM1s on your desk? I can't make out the rest of the equipment, are you running them off of you G5? I wish I had enough desk space to use a pair of "real" speakers and proper amplification! Nice setup!

Yes, that is in fact a pair of B&W LM1s on my disk. They are being driven by the G5 via a Creek 4330 MK II integrated amp. Also connected is an NHT SubOne.

That's a sweet little system. I thought that was a Creek integrated. I was thinking of doing something similar; maybe using the likes of the LM1's or a set of Blue Rooms. I just don't have the desk space.

Yes, it is a nice system..a bit more expensive that most 2.1 systems you see hooked to a computer, but it works well for me
