If I connect an audio source (I-pod or similar) to the audio line in port , I get no sound on either the internal loudspeaker or the headphone jack. http://forums.macnn.com/images/smili...l/confused.gif
If I use an internal sound source (I-Tunes, recorded sound track, a..s.o.), I am able to listen to the sound on either loudspeaker or headphone jack.http://forums.macnn.com/images/smili...hool/smile.gif
Any suggestion on where I need to look for the bug?

The relevant data are:
MAC OS X 10,4,11
Dual 1.25 Ghz Power PC G4

Sound Preferences:
Input audio input port (Mute blanked)
Output internal loudspeaker

The audio from the Input does not automatically play back through the output.

Having the system default to that kind of setup virtually guarantees plenty nasty feedback loops which can and will destroy speakers or your hearing.

If you wish to hear what's attached to the input, you can download a system audio router like SoundFlower (which is free) or just have the application you will be using to deal with the audio play it thru.

I got no result after installing Soundflower: in any combination of audio IN port (built-in Input port or SF) and of audio OUT port (built-in loudspeaker or SF) I got no playback from a sound source connected to audio IN port.
In all combination, the audio OUT is working as usual with an internal source like I-Tunes.

Hi. Did you ever find a solution to this? I can't get my line in to play through my speakers as well.

i think you have not properly configured soundflower. Please carefully read its user manual before proceeding with it.
