I have 4 drives of 4.1Tb each in our Xserve. How can I mirror those so the total space is 8.2Tb? When I drag all four of them in the disk utility to mirror it says I'm only getting 4.1Tb space which doesn't seem to make sense. Shouldn't I get half of the total?

Thanks!

I don't think this cames sense: there are no 4 TB drives, the largest drives currently on sale are 2 TB. What exactly is your configuration? You can check it in Disk Utility, for instance.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

Sorry, it's a cluster. There are 7x750Gb drives that shows up as one 4.1Tb drive in the Disk Utility. So, total there are 28x750Gb that shows up as 4x4.1Tb in Disk Utility. Hope that explains it better.

My wish though is to have a mirrored drive of 8.2Tb (considering the grand total is 16.4Tb)

I can't seem to get it that way.

Thanks!
