Hello all, here's the deal....

I've been watching this site and others listening to all the folks talking about how good MAC's are. I've been sitting on the sidelines. In about Feb, I started getting more aggressive in my research. Went to Apple.com did the research, built what I wanted...you know the routine. Then I find out the 17's aren't being shipped yet. Listening to ya'll rant and rave about waiting was and still is entertaining. Anyway, being a Johnny come lately and never in a hurry, I read a post about the St Louis Apple store having 17's. Last night, I sauntered on in...pulled out the credit card and walked out $4600 poorer. I was to tired to do anything last night. (BTW even bought 512MB of RAM). Finally unpacked the box and pulled it out at lunch. Awesome looking. I fired it up and immediately screwed it up. I couldn't figure out crap! Didn't have the right size phillips screwdriver to do the memory upgrade. Never could figure out how to network using a cable modem, and 4 hub router using Windows 98. So I'm more than stuck like chuck trying to figure out this Airport Base Station Stuff. Well, I'm back at work right now, so like the title says...when I get home this evening, can someone talk me through what the hell I need to to do to get up and running?

Hey, I'm back. I'm on the forum with the PC just staring at the 17. What do I need to do first? How can I chat with somebody?

Maybe you should tell people what you want to do so they can help you do it?

so far so good. I got the printer hooked up through the base station. Man it was sweet to print through the wireless. This is fun. Now I'm setting up .MAC and charging the battery.
