Hey guys, I'm in the market for a 17" case/bag. I was hoping my fellow MacNN buddies could help me out. I don't want that big of a bag, just needs to hold the computer, an extra battery, charger, iPod, Bose Noise Cancelling headphones and a 2 inch thick notebook. It's really for class and airports (flying home is a long adventure). I really like the looks of the booq PowerSleeve17, but I'm afraid it won't hold everything I need, and it's fifty bucks. I also don't really want to advertise that I'm carrying a computer, so I'm trying to avoid those standard computer bags. I'm also considering a backpack, but the incredibly limited space on airplanes is making me think twice.
So, if you guys have any suggestions, recommendations, I'd love them!

Are you saying $50 is too much?
I have a Waterfield Designs Racer-X ( www.sfbags.com) but it is over $100. I love it, though, and it has plenty of room for all of my extras, plus a notebook/textbook.

They also have covers for your cinema display, etc.

Well, I'm not making a lot of money, so the cheaper the better. I guess $50 is pretty cheap now that I think about it...

For the longest time, I've been looking at the Mitre by Tom Binh for its simplicity and price. However, I got to see my friend's Waterfield Designs bag for his 12" and I am thoroughly impressed. Whenever I get my 17-inch I am going to have a tough time deciding!

Following up on zircopax's recommendation, I'd say go with Willow Design. I have the Vermillion bag, which from what you described, sounds like it would fit the bill nicely. Goes for $87. I love mine.
